GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(Various Roads, Tewkesbury) (General Traffic Regulations) Order 1998

Notice is hereby given that on 16th February 1998, Gloucestershire County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to:   (a) prohibit any vehicle from waiting at anytime on parts of the following lengths of road:       East Street, Hone Court, Pyke Road, Knights Way, Cotteswold Road, Mill Street, Ropewalk and Chance Street.   (b) prohibit any vehicle from waiting between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday inclusive on parts of the following lengths of road:       East Street, Barton Street and Mill Street.   (c) prohibit any vehicle from waiting between the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive on parts of the following lengths of road:       Chance Street and Ropewalk   (d) prohibit any vehicle from waiting for more than 45 mintues between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday inclusive return prohibited within 1 hour on parts of the road known as Barton Street.   (e) prohibit any person from loading or unloading their vehicle between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday inclusive on parts of the road known as Mill Street.   (f) prohibit any person from loading or unloading their vehicle between the hours of 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday inclusive on parts of the road known as Oldbury Road.   (g) no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle constructed or adapted to carry more than 12 passengers (exclusive or driver) to proceed in that length of Mill Street which extends from its junction with the A38 Church Street throughout its whole length; except for:       (i) public service vehicles used in the provision of local services;       (ii) scheduled express services;       (iii) school buses; and       (iv) work buses.   (h) create on street parking places for goods vehicles only in parts of the roads known as High Street and Mill Street.   (i) to revoke the following Orders or parts of Orders:       Gloucestershire County Council (Town of Tewkesbury) (Various Roads) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 1982, Schedule 1, item 4(b)       Gloucestershire County Council (Various Roads, Tewkesbury) (Waiting Restriction) Order 1990, Schedule 1, item(s) Chance Street and Ropewalk       Gloucestershire County Council (Various Roads, Tewkesbury) (General Traffic Regulations) Order 1994 Schedule 1 item 9, Schedule 2 item 3(a) and 3(b); Schedule 3 item 5(b), and Schedule 4 items 1(a), 3 and 4.   The Order will contain the usual exemptions to permit waiting for the purposes of boarding and alighting, building operations on or under the roads and in connection with the services of statutory undertakers in relation to the prohibition of waiting. Exemptions will also apply to disabled persons vehicles.   A copy of the Order which comes into effect on 19th March 1998, together with the relevant plan may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Gloucestershire County Council, Shire Hall, Westgate Street, Gloucester and the Tewkesbury Public Library, Sun Street, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, during their normal opening hours.   Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that any requirement to that Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order is made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
