The A55 Trunk Road (Coed y Cra, Flintshire) (Closure of Central Reservation Crossings and Prohibition of Turning) Order 199

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Wales proposes to make an Order under sections 1 and 2 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.   The effect of the Order is to close the two gaps in the central reservation between the westbound and eastbound carriageway of the Chester—Bangor Trunk Road (A55) which are situated 2920 and 2990 metres to the west of the centrepoint of the A55 Northop Interchange. Traffic emerging from the classified roads C73 (leading to Coed Y Cra and Flint) and C191 (leading to a roundabout, Little Chef and Northop) will be unable to turn right to join respectively the westbound and eastbound carriageways of the A55, Westbound traffic will be unable to turn right from the A55 to join the C73 road and the eastbound traffic will be unable to turn right to join the C191 road.   The alternative route for westbound traffic destined for the C73 road will be to continue west to the Pentre Halkyn Interchange to leave the A55 and rejoin it in an eastbound direction. Eastbound traffic destined for the C191 road will continue east to the Northop interchange to leave the A55 and rejoin it in a westbound direction. Westbound traffic emerging from the C73 road and eastbound traffic emerging from the C191 road will need to travel east and west respectively and then in the opposite direction after turning off at the Northop or Pentre Halkyn Interchange.   A copy of the proposed Order, relevant plan and statement of reasons for making the Order, may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Flintshire County Council, County Hall, Mold, Flintshire CH7 6NB, during a period of 21 days from 13th March 1998.   Objections, specifying the grounds on which they are made and quoting reference ZC510-2-17-1, must be sent in writing to the Welsh Office, Highways Directorate, Roads Administration Division 3, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF1 3NQ, by 3rd April 1998. In the preparation of an objection and the statement of grounds of objection, it should be borne in mind that the substance of any grounds of objection, or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
