TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act, which will authorise the stopping-up of an irregularly shaped area of highway at Plumptre Square, Nottingham, measuring 196 square metres.   If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Grogan Culling Architects on behalf of TSP Ltd/Nottingham Community Housing Association by Nottingham City Council, on 2nd April 1996, under reference PF/95.10.0041.   The proposed Order will require the improvement of existing highway, maintainable at public expense, and for which the highway authority is to be the Nottinghamshire County Council.   Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during the 28 days commencing on 13th March 1998 at the offices of the Nottingham City Council, The Guildhall, South Sherwood Street, Nottingham, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for the East Midlands (quoting reference EMCM 507035/1/179) at the address below.   Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 13th March 1998 by notice to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions quoting the above reference, at the Government Office for the East Midlands, Transport, The Belgrave Centre, Stanley Place, Talbot Street, Nottingham NG1 5GG.   In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.   Demolition of buildings fronting Malin Hill, Short Stairs, Plumptre Square and Pemberton Street; conversion of 1 Short Hill and front of 9 Short Hill to 12 residential flats and of 10 Short Hill to offices and bar/restaurant (class A3). Erection of new buildings along Malin Hill, Bellar Gate, Pemberton Street, Plumptre Square and Short Stairs for 157 residential flats and retail/offices uses.
