The Hounslow (Bus Lane) (No. 1) Order 1998 Bus Lane on Fagg’s Road

Notice is hereby given that, the Council of the London Borough of Hounslow, on 16th March 1998 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.   The general effect of the Bus Lane Order will be to prohibit all vehicles, except buses, from entering or proceeding in the area of the carriageway (to be known as the “bus lane”) on the east side of the southbound carriageway of Fagg’s Road from a point 65 metres north of the north-west kerb-line of Armadale Road to a point 88 metres north of the north-west kerb-line of Staines Road. The side boundaries of the bus lane will be the north-east kerb-line of Fagg’s Road and a longitudinal single white line marked on the carriageway of that road. The prohibition will apply between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive.   A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 23rd March 1998, together with plans depicting the lengths of road to which the Order relates can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, in the Environmental Services Reception Area at the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN.   Copies of the Orders may be purchased from the Environmental Services Department, telephone No. 0181-862 5429.   Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the grounds that they are not the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or that any relevant requirements have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application to the High Court for the purpose.
