Warwick District Council Off-Street Parking Places Order 1998

Notice is hereby given that on 13th March 1998, the Warwick District Council made an Order under the powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, and the Parking Act 1989.   The Order will come into operation on 1st April 1998. The general effect of the Order is:   (i)  Long stay car parks, Leamington Spa and Warwick ; to increase the charges for Long-Stay Car Parks from £1.40 to £1.50 for a stay of over 2 hours;   (ii)  Short stay car parks, Leamington Spa and Warwick ; to increase the charges for Short-Stay Car Parks from £1.50 to £1.60 for a stay of 2 to 4 hours and increase the charges from £2.80 to £2.90 for a stay of over 4 hours;   (iii)  Kenilworth car parks, (Square West and Abbey end only) ; to increase the charges for Kenilworth car parks for a stay of up to 2 hours from 20p to 30p. To increase the charges for a stay of 2 to 4 hours from 50p to £1, and increase the charges for a stay of over 4 hours from £1.20 to £2;   (iv)  Coach charge, Designated car parks only ; to introduce a coach charge of £8 for parking all day or part thereof;   (v)  Season tickets, Short stay car parks, to increase the annual charge for a short-stay season ticket from £360 to £420 and to increase the monthly charge from £32 to £37.50;   (vi)  Season tickets, long stay car parks (including Kenilworth) ; to increase the annual charge for a long stay season ticket from £190 to £240 and to increase the monthly charge from £17 to £21.50;   (vii)  Myton Fields, Warwick; to increase the charge for parking all day or part thereof in the Myton Fields car park (April to October inclusive) from £1.40 to £1.50;   (viii)  St. Nicholas Park, Warwick; to increase the charge from £1.10 to £1.20 for a stay of 2 to 3 hours with all other charges increased in line with the remaining short-stay car parks;   (ix)  Excess charges, all car parks; to increase the charge where a ticket was purchased and for an overstay of up to 1 hour from £2 to £2.50 and to increase the charge when paid within 1 working day of issue of the excess charge ticket from £10 to £11 and to increase the charge ticket from £21 to £22 when paid within 7 working days of issue of the excess charge ticket and to increase the charge paid when paid after 7 working days of the issue of the excess charge ticket from £42 to £44.   In all other respects the provision of the present Orders will apply, including exemptions for disabled drivers.   Copies of the Order and maps showing locations of the car parks can be inspected at my office at 1 Warwick New Road, Leamington Spa, The Town Hall, Leamington Spa; the Warwick District Council Office, Pageant House, Jury Street, Warwick and at the Warwick District Council Office, Council House, Southbank Road, Kenilworth, during normal office hours.   Any person wishing to question the validity of this Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, and the Parking Act 1989, and on the grounds that any requirements of these Acts, or any Instrument made under them has not been complied within relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 20th March 1998, apply to the High Court for this purpose.   For any further information regarding this Order please contact J.
