HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
The Devon County Council (A3052 Exeter to Lyme Regis—Classified Road) (Side Roads) Order 1997
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that he has confirmed the above Order which was made by the Devon County Council
under section 14 of the Highways Act 1980 and which, as confirmed, authorises the
Council:
(a) to carry out the improvement of highways,
(b) to stop-up highways, and
(c) to construct new highways,
all on or in the vicinity of the Classified Road being the highway which the Council
propose to improve, which is the A3052 Exeter to Lyme Regis road at Sidmouth in the
district of East Devon in the county of Devon from Trow Farm to Slade Farm Cottage.
Copies of the Order (as confirmed) and of the relevant plans may be inspected,
free of charge, during normal office hours at the offices of Devon County Council
(Room G42), County Hall, Exeter; the offices of East Devon District Council, Knowle,
Sidmouth; and Sidford Post Office, School Street, Sidford, Sidmouth.
Any persons aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof,
or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers
of the Highways Act 1980 or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or of any
regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may,
within 6 weeks of 25th March 1998 apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing
of the Order, or of any provision contained therein.
