The Newcastle upon Tyne City Council (Cranbrook Road Area) Prohibition of Driving Order 1998
Notice is hereby given that, on 26th March 1998, Newcastle City Council made an Order under sections 1 and 2 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order, which will come into operation on 30th March 1998, is to prohibit any vehicle (except pedal cycles) from proceeding on the following lengths of road: (a) Cranbrook Road, from its junction with Whitehouse Road in a generally north and easterly direction to Back Armstrong Road; and (b) Heath Crescent (western leg), from its junction with Hillside Crescent to its junction with Whinbush Place. Full details are contained in the Order which, together with a plan showing the restriction and statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be examined at the offices of the Department of Highways and Transportation, Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne, on Mondays to Fridays, 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Department of Highways and Transportation on (0191) 2328520, ext. 6057. If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 26th March 1998, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
