COUNCIL OF THE ISLES OF SCILLY

The Council of the Isles of Scilly, acting in their capacity as Coast Protection Authority, hereby give notice under paragraph 1 of the second Schedule of the above Act, that they propose to make an Order under section 18 of the above Act.   The Order shall prohibit, save under licence, the excavation or removal of any materials (other than minerals more than 15.24 metres below the surface) on, under or forming any part of any portion of the seashore to which the Order is applied, as described in the Schedule below.   The draft Order and plans showing the extent of the Order may be viewed at the Council Offices, at the Town Hall, St. Mary’s, Isles of Scilly, on any weekday, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 noon and 1 p.m. and 4.30 p.m.   Any person, not later than 30th April 1998, may serve a written notice of objection to the above proposal on the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and on the above mentioned Authority. Any such notice must contain a statement of the grounds of objection and must be sent to Flood and Coastal Defence with Emergencies Division, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Eastbury House, 30-34 Albert Embankment, London SE1 7TL, and to the Chief Executive of the Authority at the address below.
