Introduction of Lorry and Coach Ban—Stanmer Street Area, London S.W.11

The Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth, on 30th March 1998, made the Wandsworth (Prescribed Routes) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1998, under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.   2. The general effect of the Order will be to prohibit any goods vehicle (the maximum gross weight of which exceeds 7.5 tonnes) or any public service vehicle from entering—       (a) Banbury Street,       (b) Colestown Road,       (c) Shuttleworth Road (between Bridge Lane and Stanmer Street),       (d) Stanmer Street.   3. The prohibition referred to in paragraph 2 above will not apply in certain circumstances, e.g., for gaining access to off-street garaging, loading and unloading etc.   4. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 6th April 1998, and of documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including a drawing showing the location and effect of the Order, can be inspected during normal offices hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made at the Information Point located in The Concourse, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU.   5. Copies of the Order may be obtained from the Council’s Administration Department, Room 153, the Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU (telephone 0181 871 7520).   6. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements of that Act, or of any relevant regulations made under that Act have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
