The Hounslow (Weight Restriction) Order 199 Weight Restriction at Baber Bridge, Staines Road, Hounslow

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Hounslow propose to make the above-mentioned Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.   The general effect of the Hounslow (Weight Restriction) Order would be to impose a restriction on vehicles, the maximum gross weight of which exceeds 17.5 tonnes, from using so much of that length of the carriageway of Staines Road, Hounslow, as is carried by the Baber Bridge over the River Crane.   Exemption would be provided in the Order:   (a) in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform;   (b) in respect of anything done in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by the Metropolitan Police.   (c) in respect of ambulance, fire brigade or police vehicles in an emergency.   A copy of the proposed Order, together with the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and a plan depicting the length of road to which the Order relates, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published in the Environmental Services Reception Area, at the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN.   Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Environmental Services Department of the London Borough of Hounslow, on 0181-862 5249.   Any person desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director of Environmental Services at the London Borough of Hounslow, Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN, quoting the reference TP/DN/414, within the afore-mentioned period of 21 days.
