LONDON BOROUGH OF ISLINGTON

The Islington (Prescribed Routes) (No. 131) Traffic Management Order 1998 relating to Gloucester Way and Myddelton Street E.C.1.

Notice is hereby given that the Islington Borough Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.   The general effect of the Order will be to:   (a) ensure that any vehicle proceeding in Gloucester Way in a southerly direction shall, at its junction with Myddelton Street, only turn right into Myddelton Street.   (b) Ensure that any vehicle proceeding in Gloucester Way in a northerly direction shall, at its junction with Myddelton Street, only turn right into Myddelton Street.   (c) Ensure that any vehicle travelling in Myddelton Street in an easterly direlction shall, at its junction with Gloucester Way, only turn left into Gloucester Way.   (d) Ensure that any vehicle travelling in Myddelton Street in a westerly direction shall, at its junction with Gloucester Way only turn left into Gloucester Way.   The prohibitions referred to in paragraph 2 above will not apply in relation to anything done with the permission of or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, nor will they apply to pedal cycles.   A copy of the proposed Order, of plans indicating details of the measures referred to above, and of the Council’s statement of case for proposing to make the Order, can be inspected during normal office hours until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order at the following location: The Legal Department, Town Hall, Upper Street, London N1 2UD. Please ask for reference LE/C/HGF.   Any person desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Solicitor to the Council, Legal Department, the Town Hall, Upper Street, London N1 2UD, within the period of 21 days from the date of this notice.
