TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of a length of Williamson Street, Kingston-upon-Hull. The proposed Order will not be made unless planning permission for the development described in the Schedule to this notice is granted, and in that even the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable that development to be carried out in accordance with that planning permission. Planning permission for that development was applied for to Kingston-upon-Hull City Council by Tesco Stores Ltd., on 4th October 1996 under application number 000 2262/1F and the application stands referred to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions in pursuance of a direction under section 77 of the above Act. The proposed Order will require the improvements of the access to Bannister Drive by the provision of traffic calming measures; improvements to the junction of Warwick Street with the newly diverted Williamson Street; improvements to Emily Street by widening to form a new junction between the diverted Williamson Street and Hedon Road and the provision of a new length of highway maintainable at the public expense for which Kingston-upon-Hull City Council will be the local highway authority. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 29th April 1998 at Kingston-upon-Hull City Council, The Guildhall, Reception/Enquiries, Alfred Gelder Street, Kingston-upon-Hull and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber (quoting reference YHDOT F2035/35/1/6) at the address stated below. Any person may object to the making of the proposed order within the period of 28 days commencing on 29th April 1998 by notice to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, quoting the above reference, at the Directorate of Planning, Transport and Environment, Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber, PO Box 213, City House, New Station Street, Leeds LS1 4US. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.
