Stopping-up of a Highway at Stalybridge
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that on the application of Portico Housing Association, he has made an Order
under section 247 of the above Act entitled The Stopping-up of Highways (Metropolitan
Borough of Tameside) (No. 1) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of Brougham Street
(off High Street) Stalybridge.
Copies of the Order may be obtained free of charge on application to the Government
Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester
M1 4BE (quoting reference GO/TNW 5087/35/1/30) and may be inspected at all reasonable
hours at the Council Offices, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, Wellington Road,
Ashton-under-Lyne and at the Resource Centre, Old Central School, Waterloo Road, Stalybridge.
Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof,
or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers
of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder
has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks of 7th May
1998 apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any
provision contained therein.
