Notice of Public Path Order
Manchester City Council The Briscoe Lane, Newton Heath, Manchester Public Path Diversion Order 1998
Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport
and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 247 of the
Town and Country Planning Act 1990, and all other powers enabling him in that behalf,
has made an Order entitled the Briscoe Lane, Newton Heath, Manchester, Public Path
Diversion Order 1998, the effect of which will be to divert the footpath which runs
from the Garage Colony at Ten Acres Lane to Briscoe Lane, Newton Heath, Manchester.
A copy of the Order and the map contained in it has been deposited at the offices
of the Manchester City Council and may be inspected, free of charge, at the Chief
Executive’s Department, Manchester City Council, Town Hall, Manchester, at all reasonable
hours.
The Order becomes operative as from the date on which the Manchester City Council
certify that the terms of Article 2 of the Order have been complied with, but if any
persons aggrieved by the Order wish to question its validity (or the validity of any
provision contained in it) on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Town
and Country Planning Act 1990, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act
(or of any regulation made under it) has not been complied with in relation to the
making of the Order, they may, under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning
Act 1990, within 6 weeks from the date of publication of this notice, make an application
for the purpose to the High Court.
