TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
Stopping-up of a Highway at Barrowford, near Nelson, Lancashire
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that on the application of Lancashire County Council, on behalf of Peel Investments
(North) Limited, he has made an Order under section 248 of the above Act, entitled
The County of Lancashire (Improvement at Barrowford Road, Pendle) Road Scheme (Stopping-up)
Order 1998”, authorising the stopping-up of a length of Parrock Road, Barrowford,
near Nelson, from its junction with Barrowford Road north-westwards for a distance
of 30 metres. The Order provides for the provision of new highways and the improvement
of existing highways.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government
Office for the North West (Transport), GO-NW, Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester
M1 4BE (quoting Ref. GO/TNW 5063/35/1/51), and may be inspected at all reasonable
hours at the offices of Pendle Borough Council, Traffic Management Section, Booth
Street, Nelson.
Any person aggrieved by the Order, and desiring to question the validity thereof,
or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers
of the above Act, or that any requirement of that Act, or of any regulation made thereunder
has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 22nd May
1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any
provision contained therein.
