Town and Country Planning Act 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that on the application of the Derby City Council he proposes to make an Order under section 249 of the above Act to provide for the extinguishment of any right which persons may have to use vehicles on a length of highway at the Morledge, Derby, measuring 1,850 square metres, from the junction with the existing bus station access in a south easterly direction for 85 metres to the junction with the Cock Pitt island.
  The proposed Order will contain provisions for permitting the use of that highway by vehicles being used:

  (a) for police, ambulance or fire brigade purposes;
  (b) in connection with the laying, erection, inspection, maintenance, alteration, repair, renewal or removal in or near the said length of highway of any sewer, main, pipe, conduit, wire, cable or other apparatus for the supply of gas, water, electricity or of any telecommunications apparatus as defined in Schedule 2 to the Telecommunications Act 1984, and for use by pedal cyclists.

  During 28 days from 5th May 1998 copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at the offices of the Derby City Council, Council House, Corporation Street, Derby and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State at the address stated below.
  Within the above-mentioned period of 28 days, any person may by notice to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Government Office for the East Midlands, Transport (Ref. EMCM 5050/41/39/12), The Belgrave Centre, Stanley Place, Talbot Street, Nottingham NG1 5GG, object to the making of the Order.
