TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of a length of all-purpose highway at Cawston Road and a length of all-purpose highway at Stonegate Lane, Aylsham.   If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Norfolk Homes Limited by Broadland District Council on 9th February 1994 under Reference 931224.   The proposed Order will require improvement of Cawston Road and Stonegate Lane, Aylsham and the provision of a new all-purpose highway maintainable at the public expense for which Norfolk County Council will be the local highway authority.   The proposed Order will provide that the stopping-up must not be carried out until Norfolk Homes Limited has improved highway at Cawston Road and Stonegate Lane and has provided new all-purpose highway and that the improved highway and the new all-purpose highway shall be highway maintainable at the public expense for which Norfolk County Council will be the local highway authority.   Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 2nd June 1998 at the offices of Aylsham Town Council, Town Hall, Market Place, Aylsham and at the Northern Area Office of Norfolk County Council, Gashouse Hill, Aylsham and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for Eastern Region (Planning and Transport) (quoting reference GT/K2610/35/1/03) at the address stated below.   Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 2nd June 1998 by notice to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions quoting the above reference, at the Government Office for Eastern Region (Planning and Transport), Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL.   In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.
