The A663 Trunk Road (Broadway) (Prohibition of Various Traffic Movements) Order 199

The Secretary of State for Transport gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 1(1) and 2(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the A663 Trunk Road known as Broadway, in the District of Oldham.   The effect of the Order will be as follows:   (a) to prohibit traffic from making a right turn from the A663 Broadway on to the M66 Motorway southbound entry slip road;   (b) to prohibit traffic from entering the A663 Broadway by making a right turn from Mough Lane;   (c) to prohibit traffic travelling in the southbound or the northbound carriageway of the A663 Broadway from making a ‘U’ turn through the gaps in the central reservation opposite Whitegate Lane, Gorse Street, Broadgate, and the M66 Motorway southbound carriageway entry slip road, Semple Way, and the M66 Motorway northbound entry slip road, Long Lane and Mough Lane;   (d) to prohibit vehicles entering Broadway from Broadgate from making a ‘U’ turn, and   (e) to prohibit vehicles entering Broadway from Semple Way from making a ‘U’ turn.   A copy of the proposed Order, a plan illustrating the proposals and a statement of reasons explaining the Secretary of State’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during office hours at Broadway Library, Whitegate Lane, Chadderton; Chadderton Town Hall, Middleton Road, Chadderton, Oldham; or may be obtained by application to the Director, The Highways Agency, Northern Customer Services Division, Room 705, Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE.   Any person desiring to object to the Secretary of State’s proposals to make this Order should send a written statement of their objections and grounds thereof to the Highways Agency at the address given above quoting HA/41/12/1.
