Stopping-up of Highways at Skelmersdale, Lancashire
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that on the application of West Lancashire District Council, he has made an
Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County
of Lancashire) (No. 4) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of various footpaths
at Skelmersdale including an unnamed footpath leading from Grimrod Place eastwards
and for a distance of 150 metres and two footpaths from the north side of Gorsey Place
northwards for distances of 80 metres and 70 metres.
The Order requires the provision of a footpath and cycle track footpath.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government
Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester
M1 4BE (quoting Ref. GO/TNW 5063/35/1/55), and may be inspected at all reasonable
hours at the offices of West Lancashire District Council, 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk.
Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof,
or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers
of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder
has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks of 18th June
1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any
provision contained therein.
