Notice of an application for an Order suspending Public Rights of Way

RJB Minning (UK) Ltd., in connection with the working of coal by opencast operations proposes to apply under section 15 of the Opencast Coal Act 1958, to the Coal Authority for an Order suspending non-vehicular rights of identified in the Schedule below.   It is proposed that alternative ways for use by the public during the period for which the Order will be in force will be made available as identified in the Schedule below.   Opencast planning permission has been applied for.   A copy of the application and of a map showing the Rights of Way can be inspected at Dawley Library, King Street, Dawley, Telford, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m; and Telford and Wrekin Council, Civic Offices, Telford TF3 4BL, Mondays to Fridays 8.30 a.m. to 5.15 p.m.

Rights of Way to be suspended

RUPP No. 36 Part of RUPP36, from a point 40 metres west-south-west of its inception with the Dawley Road about 580 metres north-north-west of St. John’s Church running in a generally west-south-west direction for about 285 metres to the eastern side of New Works Lane.   From a point on the western side of New Works Lane approximately 175 metres to the south-south-west of the property known as Fairhaven and running generally west-south-west for about 130 metres to its inception with Footpath No. 37 approximately 250 metres south-west of the property known as Fairhaven. Footpath No. 37 From its inception with RUPP approximately 250 metres south-west of the property known as Fairhaven and running for about 50 metres in a generally north-north-west direction, then running generally north-west for about 170 metres to the eastern side of Short Wood at a point approximately 280 metres west of the property known as Fairhaven.

Alternative ways to be provided

Alternative Way No. 1 From a point approximately 40 metres west-south-west from the inception of RUPP No. 36 with Dawley Road, at a point 580 metres north-north-west of St. John’s Church, running in a generally northerly direction for about 20 metres, then north-west for about 25 metres, then north-north-west for about 70 metres to a point 50 metres south of the property known as 63 Lawley Furnaces, Dawley Road. Then running west-north-west for about 50 metres, then west for 90 metres, then west-south-west for 30 metres, then west-south-west for 30 metres towards New Works Lane. Then running generally south-south-west within the application site parallel with the eastern side fo New Works Lane for approximately 100 metres, then south for 25 metres to the junction of RUPP No. 36 at the eastern side of New Works Lane at a point 175 metres south of the property known as Fairhaven. Alternative Way No. 2 From the Junction of RUPP No. 36 and the western side of New Works Lane within the application site for about 40 metres in a south-south-east direction, then generally south for about 150 metres towards the rear of the property known as Rose Villa, then south-south-west for about 60 metres, then in a generally southerly direction for about 95 metres, then south-south-east for 20 metres, then south-south-west for about 45 metres, then in a generally southerly direction for about 120 metres to Footpath No. 29 at a point 15 metres north of the property known as Bel Vista on New Works Lane. Then running north-west (through New Works Wood) for about 55 metres, then generally west-north-west for about 250 metres, then north-west for 250 metres, then generally north-north-east for about 410 metres along the eastern side of Shortwood to Footpath No. 37 at a point 280 metres west of the property known as Fairhaven.
