Notice of Intention to Adopt and of Proposed Modifications to a Local Plan
Crawley Borough Local Plan Deposit Draft 1995

The Public Local Inquiry into objections to the Deposit Draft Local Plan 1995 has been held and the Local Plan Inquiry Inspector has submitted his Report (February 1998). The Report was subsequently published for information purposes. On 8th June 1998, the Council considered the Local Plan Inquiry Inspector’s recommendations contained within the Report and has now published a statement and schedule of its response to the Inspectors recommendations together with a list of Proposed Modifications with the authority’s reasons for proposing them.   A list of the Proposed Modifications and statement of response are available for public inspection at Crawley Borough Council, Planning and Environmental Services, 4th Floor of the Town Hall, The Boulevard, Crawley RH10 1UZ, Monday to Thursday 8.45 a.m. to 5.20 p.m. and Friday 8.45 a.m. to 4.25 p.m., Crawley Borough Council, Borough Secretary’s Department Reception, 1st Floor of the Town Hall, The Boulevard, Crawley RH10 1UZ, Monday to Thursday 8.45 a.m. to 5.20 p.m. and Friday 8.45 a.m. to 4.25 p.m., Crawley Central Library, Exchange Road, Northgate, Crawley RH10 1XG, Monday to Friday 9.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. and Saturday 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Broadfield Library, Broadfield Barton, Crawley RH11 9BA, Monday to Saturday 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.   Also available for inspection are the Crawley Borough Local Plan Deposit Draft 1995, Pre-Inquiry Proposed Changes, Further Proposed Changes and the report of the Local Plan Inquiry Inspector. These documents, including the Proposed Modifications, may be purchased from the Planning Department at the Town Hall.   The authority do not intend to accept all of the recommendations in the Inspectors Report. The recommendations which the authority do not intend to accept are highlighted in the list of Proposed Modifications.   Objections are representations should be submitted in writing during a 6 week “deposit” period concluding on Wednesday 12th August.   Objections to, and representations in respect of, the Proposed Modifications should be sent in writing to Borough Planning and Environmental Services Department, Allan Webber, Planning Department, Town Hall, The Boulevard, Crawley, West Sussex RH10 1UZ.   Objections and representations should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. Objections should only relate to a Proposed Modification or to the fact that the local authority has not proposed a modification recommended by the Inspector. Objections should not relate to the policies and proposals of the original Plan.

Notice of Intention to Adopt Proposals

  After the Council has considered all representations it will need to decide whether further modifications to the Plan or a further Local Plan Inquiry are required. If the local planning authority decide that no further modifications are needed, the Council intends to adopt the Local Plan. Objector’s can request notification of the local authorities decision to adopt the Plan. A request to be notified must be accompanied by the address of the respondent. P. N.
