TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order, under section 247 of the above Act, to authorise the stopping-up of lengths of highway at Marsh Road, Short Street, Pennyman Street, Moor Road and Heath Road, Middlesbrough, Cleveland.   If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the outline planning permission granted to David Richardson, of Weatherall, Green and Smith, acting on behalf of Taylor Woodrow Property Co. Ltd., by the Teesside Development Corporation, on 3rd February 1998, under Ref. TDC/97/145.   Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 7th July 1998 at the offices of the Middlesbrough Information Centre, 51 Corporation Road, Middlesbrough, Cleveland, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State at the offices of the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, (quoting Ref. GO-NE/98/5047/35/3) at the address stated below.   Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 7th July 1998 by notice to the Secretary of State, quoting the above reference, at the offices of the Director Planning, Environment and Transport, Government Office for the North East, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD.   In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it. Schedule

  The outline planning permission granted is for a non-food retail warehouse development and development within use Classes B1, B2 and/or B8 together with car dealerships and land bounded by the A66, existing Football Stadium access road and proposed Middlehaven A66 access road.
