Notice of Deposit of Proposals for the Replacement of a Local Plan
Borough of Barrow-in-Furness Local Plan

Notice is hereby given that Barrow-in-Furness Borough Council have prepared proposals for the replacement of the above plan. These proposals are entitled the Borough Local Plan Review 1996-2006. If, and when, these plan proposals are adopted they will form the development plan for Barrow-in-Furness Borough Council. The development plan forms the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting that area. Copies of the proposals are available for public inspection at the Town Hall, Duke Street, Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria LA14 2LD, the Central Barrow and Neighbourhood Housing Offices and the Barrow Central and Community Libraries, free of charge, from 9th July 1998 to 21st August 1998, between 8.30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Thursday; and from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., Friday, at the Town Hall and during normal opening hours at the Barrow and Neighbourhood Housing Offices and Libraries.   Objections to, and representations in respect of, the proposals should be sent in writing to Colin Phillips or Claire Savage, Local Plans Section, Town Hall, Duke Street, Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria LA14 2LD, by Friday, 21st August 1998. Objections and representations should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. They may also be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of the withdrawal, adoption, approval or rejection of the proposals. Only objectors whose objections are made in writing and arrive at the address specified above within the 6 week period ending on Friday, 21st August 1998 will have a right to have their objections considered at a local inquiry or hearing.   Further information is available from the Local Plans Section, Barrow Borough Council on 01229 894277. Notice of Intention to Adopt Proposals   If no objections to the proposal are received during the period given for making objections Barrow Borough Council intend to adopt the proposals on the expiry of that period.
