Direction Under Regulation 7 in respect of Advertisements within Class 3 of Schedule 3

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for the Environment has directed that the provisions of Class 3 of Schedule 3 to the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 1992 shall not apply to the display of advertisements relating to the sale or letting of land or premises in the Chichester Conservation Area.   The effect of the Direction is that the display of advertisements relating to the sale or letting of land or premises in the Chichester Conservation Area may not be undertaken unless express consent has first been obtained from the Chichester District Council. The Direction comes into force on 24th August 1998, and will be effective for the period of five years from that date.   A copy of the Direction has been deposited at the Main Reception Desks at East Pallant House, Chichester; at Petworth Area Office, Newlands, Pound Street, Petworth; and at Midhurst Area Office, North Street, Midhurst, and may be inspected there, free of charge, between the hours of 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.
