The Stopping-up of Highways (Old Llangunnor Road, Carmarthen) Order 199 

The Secretary of State for Wales hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 to authorise the stopping-up of the length of highway described in the Schedule to this notice.
  If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development consisting of the construction of a flood protection wall across Old Llangunnor Road, together with a vehicular turning area nearby, to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted by Carmarthenshire County Council on 17th March 1998 under reference W/01422. The proposed Order shall cease to have effect upon the cessation of the planning permission.
  The proposed Order requires the provision of new highway which will be highway maintainable at public expense, for which Carmarthanshire County Council shall be the Highway Authority.
  During the 28 days from 14th August 1998, copies of the draft Order and the deposited plan may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at Carmarthenshire County Council, 40 Spilman Street, Carmarthen or may be obtained, free of charge, from the address below quoting the Welsh Office Reference.
  Within the above mentioned period of 28 days any person may, by notice to the Welsh Office Highways Directorate, RA3, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF1 3NQ (quoting reference ZC 510-5-21-1), object to the making of the Order. In the preparation of an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.

All distances are approximate Description of the Highway to be Stopped-up under this Order

The highway to be stopped up is at Carmarthen and comprises a 9.8 metre length of Old Llangunnor Road which commences from a point (A) at the town bridge abutment and extends across the road in a North Easterly direction to end at a point (B) where it ties into a flood defence embankment which is directly opposite property No. 3 Old Llangunnor Road.

Description of the New Highway to be provided under this Order

The highway to be provided is at Carmarthen and comprises a new vehicular turning bay which has a total area of 378 square metres located North of the existing highway curtilage commencing at a point at the western end of Old Llangunnor Road directly opposite property No. 4B Old Llangunnor Road) and runs in an easterly direction for a distance of 40 metres.
