Highways at Lidice Place and Corporation Street, Coventry

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of Lidice Place and parts of Corporation Street, Coventry.   If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted by Coventry City Council on 10th January 1996 under Ref. 46430.   The proposed Order will require an improvement to parts of Corporation Street and the provision of new footway maintainable at the public expense for which Coventry City Council will be the local highway authority.   The proposed Order will provide that the stopping-up must not be carried out until the developer has provided new improved highway and that highway shall be maintainable at the public expense.   Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 14th August 1998 at the offices of Coventry City Council, City Development Directorate, Tower Block, Much Park Street, Coventry CV1 2PY, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for the West Midlands (quoting Ref. 5109/35/1/19) at the address stated below.   Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 14th August 1998 by notice to the Secretary of State for Environment, Transport and the Regions, quoting the above reference, at the Government Office for the West Midlands, Planning, Transport and Environment, 77 Paradise Circus, Queensway, Birmingham B1 2DT.
