Pedestrianisation of an Area of Highway at St. Pauls Bus Station (St. Pauls Street and Hatherton Road) Walsall
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (Metropolitan Borough of Walsall) (No. 1) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of highway at St. Pauls Bus Station (St. Pauls Street and Hatherton Street) Walsall, the stopping-up of an area of existing highway at St. Pauls Street to be re-dedicated as footpath, and requiring the provision of new highway shown as stippled on the deposited plan and the improvement of existing highway shown as cross hatched on the deposited plan. The Order as made, will authorise the stopping-up only to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted by Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council on 13th January 1997, under Ref. BC47888P/C. Copies of this Order may be obtained, free of charge on application to the Government Office for the West Midlands at the offices of the Director, Planning, Transport and Environment, 77 Paradise Circus Queensway, Birmingham B1 2DT (quoting 5109/35/1/12), and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council, Civic Centre, Darwall Street, Walsall WS1 1DG. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks of 15th August 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
