TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Tyne and Wear) (No. 17) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of an area of highway at the rear of Meaburn Terrace, Hendon, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted to Business Manager, City Consultancy Services, by The Council of the City of Sunderland, on 13th October 1997 under Ref. 97/01223/LAP.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Secretary of State at the offices of the Director Planning, Environment and Transport, Government Office for the North East, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD (quoting Ref. GO-NE/98/5038/35/10), and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of The Council of the City of Sunderland, The Reception Desk, Administration Department, Civic Centre, Burdon Road, Sunderland SR2 7DN.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any Regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 7th October 1998 apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein. Schedule

  The planning permission granted is for an extension to Health Centre to provide new pharmacy, redevelopment of car park and new car park for staff including all necessary associated highway closures, closure of existing footpath.
