Designation of an Extension to the Lindfield Conservation Area
Notice is hereby given that at a Meeting held on 3rd September 1998 the Mid Sussex District Council designated certain land in Lindfield in the County of West Sussex described below and shown in detail on drawing no. L/CA/1 as an extension to the Lindfield Conservation Area. The extension includes all of Compton Road, together with Rosemary House, Holly Croft, Lyndhurst and Warren’s Croft in Hickman’s Lane and no’s 27-29 Denman’s Lane. A Conservation Area is an area of special architectural or historic interest, the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance. In a Conservation Area it is an offence to: 1. demolish certain buildings except with the consent of the Local Planning Authority; 2. cut down, top, lop uproot or wilfully damage or destroy a tree without due notice being given to the Local Planning Authority. Copies of the drawing showing the extension to the Conservation Area have been deposited at the Planning and Environmental Services Department, Mid Sussex District Council, Oaklands, Oaklands Road, Haywards Heath and may be inspected, free of charge, by all interested persons from Monday to Thursday between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A.
