Notice under Electricity Act 1989: Proposed Power Station Development near Sleaford, Lincolnshire

Notice is hereby given that British Energy Investment No. 2 Limited is applying to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry for planning permission to construct a combined cycle gas turbine power station, near Sleaford, Lincolnshire.
  It is proposed to generate up to 850MW. of electricity for export to the national grid. In addition, it is proposed that electricity and heat will be made available to Sleaford Enterprise Park.
  The site is located at National Grid Reference TF 074 469; see Ordnance Survey Landranger Series Sheet 130.
  This application is subject to the requirements of the Electricity and Pipeline Works (Assessment of Environmental Effects) Regulations 1990 and is accompanied by an Environmental Statement. Members of the public may inspect copies of the application and the Environmental Statement at all reasonable hours at the offices of North Kesteven District Council, at District Council Offices, Kesteven Street, Sleaford, Lincolnshire NG34 7EF.
  Copies may be purchased at a cost of £50 from British Energy Investment No. 2 Limited, 10 Lochside Place, Edinburgh EH12 9DF. Those wishing to make representations or objections in relation to the application should write to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Electricity Directorate 2, 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0ET, stating the name of the proposed development and grounds for the objection not later than 7th December 1998.
