LANCASTER CITY COUNCIL
The Lancaster City Council Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservations Areas) Act 1990
Hornby Conservation Area

Notice is hereby given under section 69, that the Lancaster City Council has determined that the boundary of the Hornby Conservation Area be amended to remove the land and buildings at Strands Farm to the rear of 24-40 (even) Station Road, Hornby. The reason for excluding this land is that the character of the Conservation Area is eroded by the scale and design of the large modern sheds associated with the fairly large farming operation at the south of the Conservation Area.   The Council has also determined that the boundary be amended to include the woodland, land and buildings at Bridge End Farm, Hornby, which is of particular importance and dominance, both from outside and inside the Conservation Area.   The plan defining the amended boundary of the Conservation Area may be inspected at the office of the Chief Planning Officer, Palatine Hall, Dalton Square, Lancaster, during normal office hours. S. Hadaway, Chief Solicitor Town Hall, Lancaster. 18th November 1998.
