HIGHWAY AT CORPORATION STREET, KIDDERMINSTER TOWN CENTRE
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Worcestershire) (No. 6) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of areas of highway at Corporation Street, Kidderminster Town Centre, and requiring the provision of new highway shown as stippled on the deposited plan. The Order as made, will authorise the stopping-up only to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the outline planning permission granted by Wyre Forest District Council on 15th October 1996 under Ref. WF.450/96. Copies of this Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for the West Midlands at the offices of the Director, Planning, Transport and Environment, 77 Paradise Circus, Queensway, Birmingham B1 2DT (quoting 5058/35/1/26), and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at Worcestershire County Council, Environmental Services, County Hall, Spetchley Road, Worcester WR5 2NP. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 2nd December 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein. Part demolition (including Pitts Lane Multi-Storey Car Park) and redevelopment of existing buildings and erection of new buildings for Class A1 (retail), Class A2 (finance and professional), Class A3 (food and drink), Class B1 (offices), Class C3 (residential), Class D2 (leisure), petrol station, bus interchange and associated car parking, landscaping and engineering work including the realignment and opening up of the River Stour on land bounded by the Ringway, Pitts Lane, Crown Lane, Exchange Street, Corporation Street, New Road, Castle Road and the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal (known as Local Plan Site KTC.1), Kidderminster.
