The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of highways serving the former properties numbered 79-90 in the vicinity of Dene Villas, Horden, County Durham. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Plot Build Ltd., by Easington District Council for: (i) Plots 35, 37, 38, 39 and 44 on 30th July 1998, under Refs. 5/98/307-5/98/310 and Ref. 5/98/131 respectively; (ii) Plot 40 on 19th August 1998, under Ref. 5/98/311; (iii) Plots 34, 43 and double garage on 1st October 1998, under Refs. 5/98/488, 5/98/490 and 5/98/492 respectively; (iv) Plot 45 on 9th October 1998, under Ref. 5/98/491; (v) Plot 33 on 20th November 1998, under Ref. 5/98/505; (vi) Plot 42 on 2nd December 1998, under Ref. 5/98/608; (vii) Plot 41 on 3rd December 1998, under Ref. 5/98/655. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on January 1999, at the offices of Easington District Council, Council Offices, Seaside Lane, Easington Village, Peterlee, County Durham, and may be obtained free of charge, from the Secretary of State at the offices of the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (quoting Ref. GO-NE/98/5053/35/10), at the address stated below. Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on January 1999, by notice to the Secretary of State, quoting the above reference at the offices of the Director Planning, Environment and Transport, Government Office for the North East, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.
