NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Anglian Water Services Limited, of Endurance House, Chivers Way, Histon, Cambridge CB4 9ZR, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from 2 chalk boreholes at National Grid Reference TL 758 254 in the parish of Bocking in the district of Braintree in the county of Essex. The proposal is to abstract at the following rates: 208 cubic metres per hour, 5,000 cubic metres per day and 1,825,000 cubic metres per year. The application is to renew the current licence, which will otherwise expire on 31st December 1999, without change to the current licensed quantities, which are subject to an aggregate limit with abstraction under licence number 8/37/31/133 where quantities shall not exceed 33,000,000 cubic metres in any 5 year period. The water will be used for public water supplies. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the address given above and at Claire Road Post Office, 38 Claire Road, Braintree, Essex CM7 2PB, between 12th March and 9th April 1999. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, Eastern Area, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JE, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
