NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR SECTION 1 ORDER IN RESPECT OF LAND AT ROYAL MINT STREET, LONDON E.1

Notice is hereby given that Docklands Light Railway Limited, of PO Box 154, Castor Lane, Poplar, London E.14, is applying pursuant to section 6 of the above-mentioned Act for an Order under section 1 of that Act in respect of land at Royal Mint Street, London E.1. The proposed Order will, if made, confer powers of compulsory acquisition on Docklands Light Railway Limited so that it is able to obtain full legal title to the relevant land in order to maintain and operate the Docklands Light Railway City Extension, which was constructed pursuant to the London Docklands Railway (City Extension) Act 1986. The Secretary of State has given an absolute waiver direction in respect of the requirement for the applicant to provide an environmental statement in support of its application for the Order. A copy of the application, and all plans and other documents submitted with it, may be inspected, free of charge, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday, at the offices of Ashurst Morris Crisp, Broadwalk House, 5 Appold Street, London EC2A 2HA, and at the offices of Docklands Light Railway Limited, Operations and Maintenance Centre, Castor Lane, Poplar, London E.14, until 26th April 1999. Requests for further information should be made in writing to Ashurst Morris Crisp, at the address given above (Ref. AGC). If you wish to make an objection to the application or otherwise submit representations about the proposals, you must write to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions at the TWA Processing Unit, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London S.W.1.P. Such objections or representations must arrive not later than 26th April 1999. An objection will not be valid unless it is (i) received by the due date, (ii) made in writing, (iii) states the grounds of objection and (iv) gives the objector’s name and address. A. M.
