NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Kvaerner Construction Ltd., of Maple Cross House, Denham Way, Maple Cross, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire WD3 2SW is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from (i) Beechbrook Borrow Pit between Beechbrook Farm and the existing railway line, near Ashford, Kent at National Grid Reference TQ 982 460 and (ii) various boreholes between Chart Road and Beaver Road Bridge along the line of the existing railway line, Ashford, Kent between National Grid References TR 0006 4314 and TR 0108 4225. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 7.5 cubic metres per hour, 180 cubic metres per day and 32,940 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for dust suppression relating to the construction phase of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link from summer 1999 to summer 2002. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Kvaerner Construction, Old Cattle Market, Gasworks Lane, Ashford, Kent between 9th April 1999 and 9th May 1999. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Kent Area Manager, Environment Agency, Orchard House, Endeavour Park, London Road, Addington, West Malling, Kent ME19 5SH, before the end of the said period quoting the name of the applicant.
