COUNTY BOROUGH OF NEWPORT (TOWN CENTRE) NOISE ABATEMENT ORDER

Notice is hereby given that Newport County Borough Council (“the Council”), in exercise of the powers conferred by section 63 of the Control of Pollution Act 1974, propose to designate a Noise Abatement Zone in respect of a class of premises within the Town Centre, namely, premises where a Justices’ Licence, granted under the provisions of the Licensing Act 1964, or any subsequent statutory re-enactment, amendment or modification thereof, authorises the retail sale of intoxicating liquor for consumption on such premises, the general effect of the Order is to enable the Council to control noise emanating from this class of premises. Any person who will be affected by the proposed Order may by notice in writing to the Council at the address below, object to the making of the Order not later than 26th May 1999. A copy of the Order and the plan of the designated area may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable times, at Newport Central Library, and at the address below. B.
