THE BROMLEY (SPEED LIMIT) (NO. 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 1999 (VARIOUS COUNTRY LANES)

Notice is hereby given, that the Council of the London Borough of Bromley hereinafter called “the Council” proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 84(1)(c), 1(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 of the Local Government Act 1985. The general effect of the Order would reduce speed limits on country lanes to 40 m.p.h. generally and 30 m.p.h. in areas of more than 20 properties, as detailed in the Schedules to this notice. A copy of the draft Order, of the drawings and the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Bromley Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3UH. Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director of Environmental Services, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3UH, quoting Ref. ADE(TP)/PAL/T100/297, not later than 30th July 1999. Persons objecting to the proposed Order should be aware that under the provisions of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any comments received in response to this notice may be open to public inspection.
