THE A24 LOCAL ROAD RED ROUTE

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth on 29th June 1999 made the above-mentioned Orders under section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 so as to vary the provisions of the A24 Local Road (Wandsworth) Red Route Experimental Traffic Order 1998, and the A24 Local Road (Wandsworth) Red Route (Side Roads) Experimental Traffic Order 1998. The general effect of the Orders will be to vary the Red Route controls which are currently operating as an experiment in Balham High Road, Balham Hill and Trinity Crescent as follows: (a) The existing box on the east side of Balham High Road outside No. 223, for loading and disabled parking, will be extended in length from 10 metres to 15 metres. (b) The existing box on the east side of Balham High road outside Steel House, near Balham station, in which parking is currently permitted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday to Saturday with a one hour maximum stay, will be amended to operate between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday to Saturday with a maximum stay of 20 minutes, no return within 40 minutes. (c) A new parking box, 15 metres in length, will be provided on the south-east side of Balham Hill outside Nos. 151-153, operating between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday to Saturday with a maximum stay of 20 minutes, no return within 40 minutes. (d) A new parking box, 5 metres in length, for unrestricted disabled parking, will be provided on the north side of Trinity Crescent at the limit of the Red Route controls. Copies of the made Orders, which will come into effect on 5th July 1999, and of plans which indicate the locations and effects of the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours on Monday to Fridays inclusive until 7th January 2000 in the Concourse, Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements of that Act or of any relevant regulations made under that Act have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application to the High Court.
