NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Anglian Water Services Limited, of Endurance House, Chivers Way, Histon, Cambridge CB4 9ZR, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a chalk borehole at National Grid Reference TL 768 364, in the parish of Great Yeldham, in the district of Braintree, in the county of Essex. The proposal is to abstract at the following rates: 85 cubic metres per hour, 2,000 cubic metres per day, and 1,000,000 cubic metres in a five year period. The water will be used for supporting low flows in the River Colne. The application is to renew a current licence which expires on 1st April 2000, with an increase in the annual licensing quantity. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the address given above and at The Post Office, High Street, Great Yeldham, Essex, between 23rd July and 20th August 1999. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, Eastern Area, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JE, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
