NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Anglian Water Services Limited, of Endurance House, Chivers Way, Histon, Cambridge CB4 9ZR, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 7/35/8/GS/152 which authorises the abstraction of water from chalk boreholes including those below in the county of Suffolk.

The variations being applied for are: 1. To renew the authorisation to abstract water from the two boreholes at Winston at National Grid Reference TL 183 614. 2. To renew the current daily licensed quantity for all three boreholes at Winston of 5,000 cubic metres per day, which will otherwise reduce to 2,700 cubic metres per day on 1st April 2000. 3. To renew the current daily and annual licensed quantities for the boreholes at Tuddenham St. Martin, which will otherwise reduce to 3,092 cubic metres per day and 1,128,580 cubic metres per year on 1st April 2000. 4. To renew the authorisation to abstract water from the boreholes at Playford at the current licensed quantities, which will otherwise expire on 1st April 2000. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the address given above and at Debenham Post Office, 10 High Street, Debenham, Stowmarket, Suffolk and Great Bealings Post Office, Lower Street, Great Bealings, Woodbridge, between 23rd July and 20th August 1999. Any person who wishes to make representations about the applications should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, Eastern Area, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JE, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
