MIDDLESBROUGH BOROUGH COUNCIL (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 1999

Notice is hereby given that Middlesbrough Borough Council propose to make an Order under section 35(1) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to regulate off-street parking within Middlesbrough as follows: The Off-Street Parking Places are described in the Schedule hereto. In the short stay car parks 120 pence for a period of two hours thereafter 120 pence per hour or thereof up to a maximum of £8.40 for over 7 and up to 10 hours shall be charged between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday. In the long stay car parks and lorry park 210 pence per day shall be charged between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The cost of season tickets for long stay car parks and the lorry park will be as follows: £126 for 3 months £252 for 6 months £504 for 12 months In the limited stay car parks specified in Part III of the Schedule 50 pence for up to a maximum period of one hour shall be charged between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday. In limited stay car parks specified in Parts III and IV of the Schedule between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday (or in relation to Civic Centre car park between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturdays only) a vehicle may be left for a period of up to one hour with return prohibited within a period of two hours from the end of the previous period of waiting by that vehicle. In the limited stay car park specified in Part V of the Schedule between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday a vehicle may be left for a period of up to 30 minutes with return prohibited within a period of 2 hours from the end of the previous period of waiting by that vehicle. Goods vehicles, caravans, motor vehicles or trailers of an unladen weight exceeding 3,048 kilograms are not permitted to park in the parking places specified in Paris I to V of the Schedule. Goods vehicles, caravans, motor vehicles or trailers either of an unladen weight exceeding 2,032 kilograms or of a height exceeding 2.1 metres are not permitted to park in the Cleveland Centre short stay car park and that part of Hill Street Centre short stay car park namely an area on the first and second floors to which access is gained by Wilson Street. Goods vehicles, caravans, motor vehicles or trailers either of an unladen weight exceeding 2,500 kilograms or of a height exceeding 2.1 metres are not permitted to park in Brentnall Street long and short stay car parks. Goods vehicles, caravans, motor vehicles or trailers either of an unladen weight exceeding 2,000 kilograms or of a height exceeding 1.98 metres are not permitted to park in Zetland long stay car park. The lorry park specified in Part VI of the Schedule may be used as a parking place by goods vehicles only. Full details of the proposals are contained in the draft Order which, together a plan showing the location of the parking places and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be inspected free of charge between the hours of 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays at the offices of Head of Legal Services, PO Box 99 a, Town Hall, Middlesbrough, TS1 2QQ, and the Civil Centre Reception, Russell Street, Middlesbrough. If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send the grounds of your objection in writing to the undersigned on or before the 2nd September 1999. R.
