THE TOYS (SAFETY) REGULATIONS 1995
Notice is hereby given that the following British Standards on the safety of toys are deemed to be “relevant national standards” for the purposes of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 1995 (SI 204). BS EN71-1:1998 Safety of toys—Part 1: mechanical and physical properties. BS 5665: Part 1: 1989 Safety of toys—Part 1: mechanical and physical properties. This remains a relevant national standard until January 2001. Publication of these references does not concern the C-weighted peak emission sound pressure level produced by a toy using percussion caps, as referred to in Clause 4.20(d) of standard BS EN71-1:1998, in respect of which it allows no presumption of conformity to the provisions of Directive 88/378/EEC.
