NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Gibbon Farms of The Lodge, Great Bentley, Colchester, Essex, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from boreholes in the sand and gravel underground strata between National Grid References TM 091193 and 094193, at Thorrington Hall Farm, Thorrington, Colchester, Essex. The proposal is to abstract water at a rate of 2,500 cubic metres per day, 20,000 cubic metres per year, between 1st April and 31st October each year. The water will be used for spray irrigation purposes. The new licence will be aggregated with existing licence No. 8/37/25/S/239 and there will be no increase in the total quantity currently licensed for annual abstraction. A copy of the application and any maps, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the Farm Office, The Lodge, Great Bentley, Colchester, between 29th October 1999 and 27th November 1999. Any person who wishes to make representations about the applicaton should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, Eastern Area, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JF, before the end of the said period quoting the name of the applicant.
