APPEAL BY ARGENT (L.I.F.E.) PLC

We give notice that Argent (L.I.F.E.) Plc, the Appellant in relation to the above appeal, proposes to clarify the description of development for which planning permission is sought by adding words to the description (and accordingly to ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions to treat the application as varied) so that the development for which it will ask for planning permission is described as follows: Freight Exchange including: road and rail freight interchange facilities (including road and rail served distribution units, transit facilities and open storage facilities, internal road and railway system, sidings and connections to the Poyle Freight Line), parkland and outdoor recreation facilities all as shown on plans Figure 1, Figure 2 and Figure 3 and the Schedule accompanying those plans also including (as so shown): administration security and estate management offices; revised road layout to serve Lakeside Industrial Estate and proposed Iver South Sludge Dewatering and Sewage Treatment Works; lorry-park and driver facilities; vehicle refuelling facilities; (*) landscaping and earthworks; ecological amenity and landscape mitigation and enhancement works; provision of a network of paths for use by pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians; new and modified accesses to/from the A4; (*) excavation and extraction of sand clays and gravels; (*) flood retention, flood attenuation and flood plain works; noise attenuation works; (*) construction of works to and culverting of ditches, water courses and water bodies and works or apparatus to control flows; (*) foul and surface water and land drainage works; temporary use of land for works sites, storage and access purposes; (*) ground consolidation, ground and ground water contamination treatment, containment and remediation works; (*) works to existing and/or restored landfill sites and/or mineral workings; (*) relocation and temporary and permanent storage and disposal of waste matter or arising from excavations, earthworks, engineering and construction works; demolition works; car parking, cycle racks, bus facilities and cyclist pedestrian and driver facilities; retaining and/or boundary structures; rail and road signing and signalling; infrastructure and service works including replacement and relocation of pipelines and pylons; temporary road and rail layout and associated facilities if required for Heathrow Terminal 5 Colnbrook Logistics Centre; temporary or permanent road and rail layout and associated facilities for permitted Foster Yeoman site. Those items marked (*) are all to be carried out generally in accordance with the principles set out in the Environmental Statement which accompanied the application to Slough Borough Council dated 19th February 1999 (Slough Borough Council Ref. P/10792/000) and the London International Freight Exchange (L.I.F.E.) Supplement to the Environmental Statement dated 22nd November 1999. Copies of these documents and the plans and accompanying Schedule referred to above will be available for inspection at the offices of the Planning Section, Slough Borough Council, at 5th Floor, Wellington House, Town Square, Slough, from 22nd November 1999, for inspection by members of the public at all reasonable hours until 19th December 1999.
