PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT 1990
NOTICE OF VARIATION OF DESIGNATION OF BANGOR-ON-DEE CONSERVATION AREA, BANGOR-ON-DEE, IN THE COUNTY BOROUGH OF WREXHAM AND GRESFORD CONSERVATION AREA, GRESFORD, IN THE COUNTY BOROUGH OF WREXHAM
Notice is hereby given that the Wrexham County Borough Council on 2nd November 1999,
varied the designation of the conservation areas in Bangor-on-Dee and Gresford, in
the County Borough of Wrexham, in accordance with section 70 of the Planning (Listed
Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.
The Bangor-on-Dee Conservation Area now includes the whole of Church Avenue and High
Street and parts of Overton Road, Station Road and Whitchurch Road.
The Gresford Conservation Area now includes the whole of Church Green and School
Hill and parts of Clappers Lane, High Street and Pant Lane.
A plan showing the precise boundaries of the areas may be inspected at the Guildhall,
Wrexham, or at the office of the Chief Planning Officer, Lambpit Street, Wrexham,
during normal office hours.
By virtue of the variation of the designation of the conservation areas, buildings
within the areas (except for specified exceptions in respect of certain types of building)
may not be demolished without the consent of the County Borough Council or the National
Assembly for Wales and there are also provisions which apply for the preservation
of trees within the conservation area. Special procedures may also need to be followed
in respect of applications for planning permission for development of land within
the conservation area. Anyone seeking more detailed information on the effect of the
designation should contact the Chief Planning Officer.
