DECLARATION OF NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE
PARISH OF ASTON BAMPTON AND SHIFFORD, COUNTY OF OXFORDSHIRE
Notice is hereby given, in pursuance of section 35(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside
Act 1981, that by the Chimney Meadows National National Reserve No 2 Declaration 2000
made on the 24th day of February 2000, the Nature Conservancy Council for England
declared that the land having a total area of 49.7 hectares or thereabouts situated
in the parish of Aston Bampton and Shifford in the county of Oxfordshire and shown
hatched on Map 1 attached to the said Declaration, (which land was included in the
Chimney Meadows National Nature Reserve No. 1 Declaration, made by the Nature Conservancy
Council for England on 13th October 1993) has ceased to be managed as a nature reserve
by the Nature Conservancy Council for England.
Notice is hereby also given, in pursuance of section 35 of the Wildlife and Countryside
Act 1981, that by the Chimney Meadows National Nature Reserve No. 2 Declaration 2000
made on 24th February 2000, the Nature Conservancy Council for England declared that
the land having a total area of 49.7 hectares of thereabouts situated in the parish
of Aston Bampton and Shifford in the county of Oxfordshire and shown shaded grey on
Map 2 attached to the said Declaration, is being held by the Berkshire Buckinghamshire
and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, a body approved by the Council, and is being managed
as a nature reserve.
Certified copies of the Chimney Meadows National Nature Reserve No. 2 Declaration
2000 have been deposited for public inspection, free of charge, during normal office
hours at the offices of Oxfordshire County Council, County Hall, New Road, Oxford;
West Oxfordshire District Council, Woodgreen, Witney, Oxfordshire and at the offices
of the Nature Conservancy Council for England at Northminster House, Peterborough
and Foxhold House, Crookham Common, Thatcham, Berkshire.
