ALBANY PARK CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Bexley propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, the Road Traffic (Parking) Act 1986, the Parking Act 1989 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. The general effect of the Orders would be to amend the existing Controlled Parking Zone which operates between 11 a.m. and 12 noon on Mondays to Fridays in the Albany Park Station Area by the provision of: (a) Added waiting restrictions; (b) Residents parking places; (c) Shared Residents/Business parking places; (d) Free parking places; and (e) Free short stay parking places. The further effects of the Orders would be to: (1) amend the Bexley (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1991 so that waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited: (a) between 11 a.m. and 12 noon Mondays to Fridays inclusive on the streets or lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this notice (which includes streets which are restricted at present); (b) between 8 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Monday to Friday in part of Longmead Drive; (c) between 8 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Monday to Saturday in parts of Steynton Avenue and Hurst Road; and (d) “At any time” in parts of the roads listed in Schedule 2 to this notice. Details of exemptions for certain vehicles and persons are contained in the original Order of 1991. (2) Revoke the Bexley (Free Parking Places (No. 1) Order 1991 as amended. (3) Introduce the Bexley (Parking Places (No.  ) Order 200 , the general effect of which would be to: (a) designate parking places on some of the streets specified in Schedule 3, in which vehicles displaying a valid residents permit or visitors permit may park during the operational hours; (b) designate parking places in Steynton Avenue in which vehicles displaying a valid residents permit or visitors permit or a valid business permit may park during the operational hours; (c) designate parking places in Steynton Avenue in which vehicles may park for a maximum of 1 hour during the period 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays; (d) designate parking places in Steynton Avenue in which vehicles may park for a maximum 4 hours during the period 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays; and (e) designate parking places in Longmead Drive in which vehicles may park for a maximum of 20 minutes during the period 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Amend the Bexley Bus Stop Clearway (No Stopping Except Buses) Traffic Order 1997 so that additional clearway restrictions are introduced at the bus stops in Hurst Road, between Foots Cray Lane and Camden Road. Amend the Bexley (Loading Places) Order 1998, so that a loading place is introduced in Steynton Avenue. Amend the Bexley (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No. 1) Order 1989, so that a parking place for disabled persons is introduced in Steynton Avenue. A copy of the proposed Orders, of the Bexley (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1991 (and of the Orders which have previously amended that Order), The Bexley Bus Stop Clearway (No Stopping Except Buses) Traffic Order 1997, (and the Orders which have amended that Order), the Bexley (Loading Places) Order 1998 (and the Order which have amended that Order), The Bexley (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No. 1) Order 1989 (and the Orders which have amended that Order), the Free Parking Places Order proposed to be revoked, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders and plans showing the locations and effects of the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until 22nd March 2000 at: (i) The Information Centre, Civic Offices, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7LB; and (ii) Reception, Wyncham House, 207 Longlands Road, Sidcup, Kent DA15 7JH.
