COAST PROTECTION ACT 1949
THE COUNCIL OF THE ISLES OF SCILLY COAST PROTECTION ORDER 1999

In accordance with the requirements of the Coast Protection Act 1949 and Annex VI of the Coast Protection Grant Memorandum, the Council of the Isles of Scilly hereby give notice that the above-mentioned Order under section 18 of the Coast Protection Act 1949 was granted on 15th March 2000. The Council of the Isles of Scilly in exercise of their powers under section 18 of the Coast Protection Act 1949, hereby order as follows: The provisions of section 18 of the Coast Protection Act 1949 (which prohibit, save under licence, the excavation or removal of any materials (other than minerals more than 50 feet below the surface) on, under or forming any part of any portion of the seashore to which the section is applied) shall apply to all of the sea shore within the Isles of Scilly down to the 10 metre depth contour line. In this Order “the seashore” means the bed and shore of the sea, and of every channel, creek, bay or estuary, and of every river as far up that river as the tide flows, and any cliff, bank, barrier, dune, beach, flat or other land adjacent to the shore. This Order may be cited as the Council of the Isles of Scilly Coast Protection Order 1999. Given under the seal of the Council of the Isles of Scilly P. S.
