NOTICE UNDER PARAGRAPH 7 OF SCHEDULE 17 TO THE ACT

Notice is hereby given that Bradford & Bingley Building Society, Register No. 701B, whose principal office is at Crossflatts, Bingley, West Yorkshire BD16 2UA, desires to transfer its business to Bradford & Bingley plc, and that the Society has applied to the Building Societies Commission to confirm the transfer.
Any interested party may make written representations to the Commission and/or give notice of intention to make oral representations to the Commission with respect to the application.
Written representations and notices of intention to make oral representations should be received by the Commission at Team 6, 14th Floor, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS, by 18th August 2000. Oral representations will be heard by the Commission on 19th September 2000, at a time and place to be determined by the Commission.
